Diversity, equity & inclusion
Hireable exists to get everyone seen, heard and hired. “Everyone” is the operative word. This page is our public commitment to building an inclusive company and a fair product, and to being held to both.
Why this is core to what we build
Hireable is a careers company. The technology we build reads CVs, matches people to roles, and coaches interviews, which puts us closer to hiring bias than most companies. If we get fairness wrong, we do not just have a culture problem: we have a product that amplifies the very inequities jobseekers already face.
So our commitment starts in the product. Hireable assesses people on skills and evidence, not on proxies like a name, an age, a gap in employment, or the prestige of a past employer. Career breaks (for caring, health, redundancy, or anything else) are treated as normal parts of a working life, because they are.
How we hire
We are a small team, and every hire shapes who we become. We recruit the way we tell employers to: structured, skills-based, and open. Roles are defined by what the work requires, not by credentials that filter people out for no reason. We do not require degrees where the work does not. We assess every candidate against the same criteria, in the same order, and we pay attention to where our pipeline is narrow rather than explaining it away.
How we build
Fair by design: we review how our matching, scoring, and coaching behave across different groups of people, and we treat a fairness regression with the same severity as any other defect.
Accessible by default: we build to WCAG accessibility standards across the platform. Keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, reduced-motion preferences, and readable contrast are part of our definition of done, not an afterthought.
Plain, respectful language: your Career Concierge writes about people in plain, respectful terms, and we hold our own copy (product, marketing, and documentation) to the same standard.
Accountability
This policy is owned personally by our founder, not delegated and not outsourced. We review it at least annually, and whenever our product or team changes in a way that touches it. If you believe Hireable has fallen short of anything on this page, as a candidate, a user, or a partner, email joe@gethireable.com and you will get a direct answer.
